Volcanoes, Mayan ruins and birds. I can't say that El Salvador was ever on my hit list of travel destinations, but it does have some impressive volcanoes. Shame there's so much criminality. A police escort was required to climb Sta. Ana Volcano, and there were armed guards everywhere in town. Guatemala and Honduras felt safer, although still not entirely so.
